Squat tutorial

Squats are a foundational movement for building full body strength. But it's not always an easy move to get right. I suggest starting by squatting to a bench as it gives you something solid to aim for.

Lock your core and push hard through your heels, as it you are trying to push the ground away with your feet. Lock out your hips and squeeze the glutes hard. Many of us have underachieve glutes and this helps you create a better mind-muscle connection with the glutes allowing you to work them fully during the exercise. Don't rock or use momentum to get you up. Make those legs do the work by pushing them into the floor. Do 12 reps for 2-3 sets, 2-3 times a week. When they start to feel easy, its time to add a weight to make them harder again.
